In this workshop
An AI model without context is an agent of chaos. Ask it to build you something, and it will. We'll start out showing live what happens when you feed an agent a task without full context, and then the same task with a Skill in place.
After that, we'll get into the nuts and bolts. You'll see what's inside a Skill and how little it takes to write one. Then, we'll spend the rest of the time exploring MCP, which is more complex but not as ominous as it appears. We'll stand up a new working MCP server and hook up an actual call from our SDK.
We won't build a production-ready MCP server, but we will have a starting point wrapped around a real SDK call, so you know what the first hour of your own server build looks like.
What to expect
- Differences between a Skill and an MCP server, and which one your problem calls for.
- What's inside a Skill and how to build one (new standards make it easier than ever).
- A live build of a working MCP server live, followed by a look at our production version to see how it scales.
- How to start building your own MCP server against something real.
- Q&A at the end.
